Reed Lindsay’s groundbreaking video reports for the new Latin American network Telesur are available on-line in English… y en español. Lindsay says of this work:

This seven-part series for Telesur was filmed during six days in October 2005 and aired in November 2005. The English-language version was produced in December 2005. The cameraman was Ramón Muñoz. The series is the first original reporting from Haiti aired on Telesur, and as such, it seeks to provide viewers with a broad introduction to the situation in the country. Given the time constraints, this series does not pretend to be comprehensive– to give just one example, all seven parts were filmed in Port-au-Prince. Important context inevitably went missing and countless stories were not told. In any case, I hope the series provides a solid launching point from which Telesur will report on the most pressing issues in Haiti with increasingly greater depth. I welcome your criticisms and suggestions.

Esta serie de siete notas para Telesur fue filmada durante seis días en Octubre 2005. Salió al aire en Noviembre 2005. El camarógrafo fue Ramón Muñoz. La serie fue el primer reportaje original desde Haití que ha salido en Telesur. Así, busca dar a los televidentes una introducción general a la situación en el país. Dados los límites de tiempo, la serie no pretende ser exhaustiva. Para dar un sólo ejemplo, ninguno de los siete capítulos de la serie fue filmado afuera de Puerto Príncipe. Inevitablemente falta contexto importante y muchas historias no fueron contadas. De todos modos, espero que esta serie ofrezca una base desde la cual Telesur pueda seguir cubriendo los temas más apremiantes en Haití con mayor profundidad. Son bienvenidas sus críticas y sugerencias.
